Hazel Moore is a hybrid, a former witch, and a recurring character in The Hathaway Chronicles. A former acquaintance of Seana Kane, she helped Scott Aldridge escape from her clutches. After that night, her status became unknown, but Scott believed she was most likely killed by Seana. She ran a psychic shop in New York back in the 1990's. Later in Darkness Descending, it was revealed by Seana that she turned Hazel into a hybrid and abandoned her. However, she was found by a vampire named Billy that helped her learn to survive. Now 18 years later, she is running an underground nightclub for the supernatural.
History[]
Born sometime in 1962, Hazel grew up in New York. In 1994, she had met up Seana, whom she had known for a few years. Hazel did some favors for Seana from time to time.
The Hathaway Chronicles[]
Darkness Descending[]
In the chapter Salvation, she is seen running a herb shop. Seana came to New York to seek a favor from her for unknown reasons. Later on, Hazel helped Scott escape from Seana when he got his humanity back. Hazel's fate afterwards remained unknown.
In the chapter The Rings, Hazel is mentioned by Seana, and it was revealed she was turned into a hybrid by her, and that Seana left her to die. She also added that the worst kind of thing a vampire could go through in that early of a stage in their lives, was to be alone, and that most didn't make it through their first year. Her fate relatively remained unknown, but it could be assumed she is still alive as a hybrid, since they are known to actually be quite powerful.
She encounters Seana 18 years later in Numb. She was revealed to be alive after all this time as everyone figured she died. She confronts Seana and threatens her if she destroys anything of hers she will bury her underath the nightclub. When Mila comes in and starts making smoke go everywhere, Hazel intercepted her and told her to get out. The two of them get into a fight, Mila getting the upper hand. Just as Mila was about to stake her, Seana threw Mila into the wall of liquor and took off with Elle. After these events, the bar was a complete lost cause from the fire Mila started apparently. Though not shown, she later discovered an unconscious Zach and Scott and had them brought to her house.
In the chapter Silhouettes, she had Billy bring Scott and Zach's bodies to her basement after they were both attacked by Seana. She helped Zach clean up his wound, as he could not heal due to the silver being injected in him. She revealed to Scott that the bouncer Billy had found her near death and now she will help those in need, explaining she had become a better person since getting free of Seana. She leads Scott and Zach out and wishes them luck hunting Seana and Elle down.
Silently Falling[]
Sometime after the events of Darkness Descending, Hazel somehow met Sara Hathaway, who was more than happy to have her join their coven of hybrids.

Personality[]
Not much was known about Hazel's personality, but she appeared to be a tough no-nonsense individual. She was allied with Seana Kane who she did a favor for. It was unknown if Hazel willingly aided her in giving information regarding the Mirren Pack or if she was in fact an uncaring person. However, after Seana destroyed her shop in her fight with Scott she snapped Seana's neck with her magic and told Scott to leave. She also had a deep sense of pride in her capabilities of being a witch. After she became a hybrid, she apparently became a person that was willing to help anyone, since her friend Billy helped her after she turned. However, she still retained her snarky side when speaking to Seana for the first time in 18 years.

As a witch, Hazel had all of the following witch abilities. After she became a hybrid, she had the common abilities of a vampire as well.
- Channeling - The act of invoking or summoning extra forms of energy by focusing on external forces.
- Elemental Control - The act of controlling and manipulating the elements of air, earth, fire, and water.
- Spell Casting - The act of changing and controlling events through the use of charms, hexes, rituals, etc.
- Telekinesis - The act of controlling and manipulating the movement of objects and persons through mental influence.
- Witches Brew - The act of brewing and concocting magical potions..
- Ability to know Relationship Ties Between Two or More People - by looking at two people, witches and or hybrids can detect how strong the relationship ties are between them, either if they are friends, together, or allies. Only the strongest and wisest witches can detect family bonds, though the two people have to know they are related
- Telepathy (Limited) - Hazel had the ability to read anyone's minds, but only could hear what someone was thinking at the time. She can easily be blocked out though, as she tried reading Seana's mind she mentally blocked her out.
